Is TET or CTET compulsory for government teacher jobs?
For teacher posts in classes 1–8, passing a Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET, or the state TET such as BTET, STET, UPTET) is generally required. Higher classes (PGT / lecturer) usually need a postgraduate degree with B.Ed instead. Each teacher recruitment notice states which test it accepts.
